# SHOW TEMPORAL PROPERTIES

List registered temporal-property definitions in the current database.

## Generic Description

Use `SHOW TEMPORAL PROPERTIES` to inspect which label/property pairs currently have temporal history, retention, and rollup policy.

```cypher
SHOW TEMPORAL PROPERTIES
```

## Consumer-Level Explanation

This is the catalog view for temporal properties. It tells you:

- which label owns the property
- which property key is temporal
- what kind of values it stores
-   what retention is configured
-   which rollups exist
- which object `index_paths` are declared for object-valued temporal properties

## Conceptual Explanation

This is the temporal-property counterpart to index and constraint introspection.

It is useful when you need to verify that:

- a migration created the right temporal properties
- rollups are declared on the expected properties
- object-valued temporal properties expose the expected field paths
- a database is using temporal-property modeling rather than ad hoc historical writes

## Advanced Example

```cypher
SHOW TEMPORAL PROPERTIES
```

## Real Use Cases

- Verifying rollout of temporal modeling in production.
- Checking whether an ingest plan should reuse an existing temporal property.
- Auditing retention and rollup coverage for operator review.
- Confirming that object streams expose their payload fields before post-ingest Rust abstraction feature generation.

## Real Limitations And Tradeoffs

- This returns metadata only, not historical values.
- It does not replace history reads or rollup reads.
- It reflects the current catalog state, not whether applications are writing those properties correctly.
- If an object temporal property has no `index_paths`, Cypher feature validation and assistant planning should treat inner object fields as unavailable until the property is repaired or redeclared.
